The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism Tier 2

WHO WAS OLIVER McGOWAN?
Oliver McGowan was a young man with autism and a learning disability. Oliver sadly died because staff who cared for him did not have the understanding to look after him.
WHAT IS THE OLIVER MCGOWAN MANDATORY TRAINING ON LEARNING DISABILITY AND AUTISM?
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is standardised and developed to ensure that health and social care providers have the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is conducted in two parts. Part one is E-Learning conducted through the E-learning for Healthcare (ELFH) portal. Part two learners undertake either Tier 1 or Tier 2 training. All are required to complete part one before attending their part two training.
WHAT IS TIER 2 TRAINING?
Tier 2 of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is for people who may need to provide care and support for autistic people or people with a learning disability. This is delivered through a 1 day face-to-face session by our approved facilitators and experts with lived experience.
