1Who we are
This website is run by Yorkshire Futures (registered company number 11766984), a Learning & Development provider based at Unit 19 Manor Court, Manor Garth, Eastfield, Scarborough, YO11 3TU. We are the “data controller” for the personal data described in this policy. Our website address is yorkshirefuturestraining.co.uk.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email info@yorkshirefuturestraining.co.uk or call 01723 679915.
2What information we collect
We collect personal data in a few simple ways:
- Enquiry and booking forms. Your organisation name, your name, email address, phone number, preferred delivery location and anything you tell us in the message box.
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address.
- Online payments. If you pay for an open course online, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details directly. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of the payment, including your name, email address and the amount.
- Delivering your course. Details of delegates attending, such as names, attendance, assessment results and certificate information, as needed to run the course and issue certificates.
- Contacting us. Any emails, calls or messages you send us.
Like most websites, the servers and third-party services that deliver this site may also receive technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you visit.
3How we use your information and why
We only use personal data where the law allows us to. The reasons we rely on are:
- To carry out a contract: to take bookings, deliver courses, take payment and issue certificates.
- Legitimate interests: to reply to enquiries, run and improve our business, and keep our website secure.
- Legal obligation: to keep accounting and tax records.
- Consent: to send you our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
5Cookies and third-party content
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Some features load content from other companies, for example the Google Reviews feed (Elfsight), fonts, icons and images. When your browser loads this content, those companies can receive your IP address and may set their own cookies or similar technologies, under their own privacy policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6How long we keep your data
- Course and delegate personal data: deleted 6 months after completion of the course or service, or sooner on request.
- Enquiries: kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Invoices and financial records: kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (normally 6 years).
7Sending data outside the UK
Some of the organisations we use, such as payment and website service providers, may process data outside the UK. Where this happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as approved contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
8Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your personal data is being used
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have incorrect personal data updated
- Have personal data erased
- Stop or restrict the processing of your personal data
- Personal data portability (allowing use for different services)
- Object to how your personal data is processed in certain circumstances
To use any of these rights, email info@yorkshirefuturestraining.co.uk. We will normally reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9Keeping your data safe
We take sensible technical and organisational steps to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we only give access to people who need it to do their job.
10Children and young people
Our website is aimed at organisations and adults. Where courses involve under-18s, such as Student First Aid, personal data is normally provided to us by their school, college, organisation or parent or guardian.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed. This policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.
